A Family Altar. A place and time carved out daily for the worship of God as a family.
A place we gather daily, in the center of our home, to do 3 things:
1. Sing a hymn,
2. Read Scripture,
3. Pray
The point is to come together, consistently, to seek Him, call upon His Name, and join in the worship.
I highly recommend this Morning and Evening Devotional.
It was originally published in 1875 (most good stuff seems to be old stuff.)
What I love about this devotional:
– It’s JUST scripture (no extra fluff or commentary.)
– It’s short (so very doable) but yet so powerful.
– It’s really easy to use as the foundation to bounce wonderful conversation off of.
– Each reading is based on a theme, pulling together several verses with the same topic.
