Is it possible to attempt order disorderly?
Is there an order to order?
As an example, if there is disorder in my home, it does me little good to randomly restore order: go to the bathroom to pick up a towel, go to the kitchen to wash a dish, go to the bedroom to make a bed, go to the living room to pick up a toy. It’s ineffective. It won’t take long before I feel overwhelmed with the chaos around me.
But, if instead, I reestablish order to the thing right in front of my sight, then move out to the area right around me, then to the room around me, then move to the next room…there will be order to the order. It will be productive work.
God wants to bring our lives into Divine Order, but there’s order to this order. It must start in your inner man. Letting Him establish your heart blameless in holiness.
Peace.
Sanctification.
Righteousness.
It then moves out from there to your flesh. Working out His righteousness He’s planted inside. Surrendering to His sifting hand as He removes that which doesn’t line up with His Spirit’s work inside.
Then it eventually moves out from there to your marriage, your children, and your other realms of influence.
Often, we can attempt to gain Divine Order disorderly. We first begin by focusing on fixing our marriage, our children, or our home. But without first allowing Him to order our inner man, this disorderly attempt at order is ineffective and futile.
Let’s discover the order to Divine Order by starting from the center and allowing His sanctifying work to move outward.
