My son asked me to walk with him about 400 feet in the rain to take him in the store to use the restroom. I could think of several reasons to say no and simply ask him to wait.
Then I realized the opportunity I had with this fast-growing boy of mine to meet a need of his, get close, and share an umbrella.
So we did, and I will always cherish the memory. We walked, talked, laughed, and jumped around the puddles.
As busy parents, our minds often naturally go to all the reasons to say no. But sometimes the best things in life happen when we intentionally turn towards the reasons to say yes!
