A Garden Enclosed

I speak this truth over my daughters often.

“You are a garden enclosed.”

Full of beauties, fragrances, fruit, and treasures. Protected within a fence.

I build this fence around my daughters as I speak wisdom to them about their eternal worth. As I draw their affections to the Lord. As I choose their influences with wisdom. As I guard their way. As I aim to model biblical femininity.

My husband builds this fence as he watches them twirl and marvels at their beauty. As he draws near and connects hearts. As he remains a strong place for them to land. As he praises my role in our family.

Too many young girls are left unprotected and opened as their garden is trampled upon and picked through. In an attempt to feel desirable, they pour their fountains out onto the streets for all to see, partake in, and enjoy. They are not taught to conceal their body, reserve their heart, and keep themselves.

But to the enclosed garden, she blooms under the watchful presence of her parents and God.

Protected to produce.
Guarded to grow.
Shielded to bloom.

Song of Songs 4:12 (NLT) You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride, a secluded spring, a hidden fountain.

Song of Songs 4:12 (NKJV) A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse, A spring shut up, A fountain sealed.
