Righteousness:
- The state of him who is as he ought to be
- The condition acceptable to God
- Correctness of thinking, feeling, and acting
- Purity of life

There is offered to us an imputed righteousness apart from our works. We now have a righteousness according to faith.
Not a righteousness of our own from the law, but a righteousness from God through and by faith in Christ.
Christ is the end of the law of righteousness to everyone who believes.
With the heart we believe unto righteousness.
To him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
We need to not pursue the law of righteousness or seek to establish our own righteousness, but instead submit to the righteousness of God through faith and present our members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
Our new man was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness!

If we are going to attempt to be “good enough” through our works to be in right standing with God, we are then submitting ourselves again to the righteousness that comes from the law.
Our righteousness would then have to exceed that of the Scribes and Pharisees to enter into heaven.
But Christ did away with the need to obtain righteousness by the law. Not that our holiness doesn’t matter, it’s just not a way into right standing with God (it’s a fruit of it).
He has now given us an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness through Jesus Christ! And we receive this acceptable position before God through faith in Christ alone! He in us and us in Him.

Believe what He has accomplished and finished for you! Don’t try to strive to attain God’s favor through works.
Instead, rest in His favor! And from that position, walk in your new man in holiness and righteousness!
