Have you ever seen a time lapse of the life of a dandelion?
The flower appears dead from the outside as it closes in.
It undergoes a metamorphosis then bursts out in newness of life. Transformed from the inside. The old is gone, and the new has come.
The flower’s whole design and purpose shifts to become a seed bearer for more life.
As it is for the life of a person hidden in Christ.
There’s a death to self that results in newness of life. Through the Holy Spirit, the old man is gone and the new man is seen. Taking on a completely different appearance and purpose.
Life is such a vapor. Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to do His full work of transformation and then be willing to allow the Lord to use us as seed bearers.
During the second half of the dandelion’s life, the wind takes away all its seeds. We too get to give of ourselves – in time, energy, service, and love; and by doing, we can share the life Christ has put in us.
