The Arrow Mission

Not His Own

Reading through John I noticed a repeated truth:  The words Jesus spoke were not His own, but God’s.

He was so driven by the Holy Spirit that even His words were surrendered to His Father’s will.

Could we say the same?

Are the words we allow to pass over our lips divinely inspired or fleshly driven?

As we progress in sanctification, being renewed and cleansed, the goal is for the body to be full light, having no part dark (Luke 11:36).

This includes our actions, thoughts, emotions, and words.

– John 8:26 He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.”

– John 8:28 I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

– John 12:49-50 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak…whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

– John 14:10 the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself

– John 14:24 the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

– John 18:20 in secret I have said nothing.
