One of the Hebrew definitions for the word “meditations” in Psalm 19:14 is: Resounding music.
To the best of my understanding, resounding music is a vibration of music that continues in an echo.
Since learning this, my awareness is continually drawn to the thoughts echoing inside of me. Throughout the day, I bring myself back to the question: Is this resounding music acceptable in the sight of God? Is what echos inside of me in praise to Him or consumed with the temporal?
As Christians, the Lord has put a new song in our mouth, one that brings Him glory and praise. So may the words that echo in our hearts be of this new song, and may the vibration of them join those that are being sung in heaven, all to His great pleasure.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. (Psalms 19:14)
