The Arrow Mission

Step into the Light

Middle of the night, unable to sleep, I was listening to a sermon by John G Lake. He shared how the Lord told him to first confess his sins to his wife before praying for their dying son. Once he did, their son was healed.

My eyes shot open and I felt the Holy Spirit’s call to likewise step into the light. At first my flesh recoiled, screaming, “No!” I resisted, feeling incapable of doing what the Lord was telling me to do.

But as I lay there in His presence, I could feel my will quickly bending. Coming into agreement with the Lord, I got up around 2am and stood at the foot of the bed. My husband noticed me and asked what I needed. I asked him to follow me into the living room.

We sat together on the couch, under just the soft glow of a lantern on the mantle, and I brought to light a past darkness the enemy used to bring guilt, condemnation, and shame.

The enemy was then disarmed; and from that place of raw oneness, we shared a powerful time in unhindered prayer.

The enemy goes before the Lord day and night bringing accusations against the brethern. We give him ground to stand when we resist the light and keep things concealed. It’s in these hidden places of darkness we are tormented and entangled in his lies.

The light we are invited into goes beyond exposing sin. It also uncovers wrong thinking and strongholds the enemy uses to hinder truth, growth, and fullness of life.

May hidden darkness never be named among the children of God. With willingness to be fully known, let us step into the light with nothing left to hide. Through this we can disarm the one who attempts to blaspheme the Word of God.
