Who do you think YOU are?

Do you know you’re more than the flesh and blood you see and feel through?

Do you know your body is just an earthly house, a tent for the “true you” inside?

We must realize the separation of our flesh, soul, and spirit, and see our true self as deeper than the housing we are in.

It’s as though we are existing inside a machine we call the human body. The machine is equipped with instruments that can either be used for righteousness to God or unrighteousness to sin.

Given full operation of this machine, we have the ultimate ability to tell it how to think, move, act, and feel. One day we will each give an account for the things done in the body, whether good or bad.

Unfortunately, many people live out of the desires of the flesh, being wrongly driven by that which we were meant to drive.

We are not to let sin reign in our mortal bodies, obeying its fleshly inclinations, tastes, drives, or lusts; but rather, we are meant for our true self inside to take reign over of those things.

We are called to subdue all that is in opposition to our created design as His image bearers, and operate our machine in accordance to the glory of God.

Once we turn our true inner selves towards God, praying for wisdom, we are given understanding on how to operate these machines in ways that are pleasing to Him.

Don’t be driven by the flesh because the “true you” inside will live beyond the life of this machine. Instead, be driven by this gospel truth: The sin of the flesh does not have dominion over you; rather, you’ve been given dominion over it through Christ.
