I found a beautiful word in Scripture:
ἐπιστρέφω – G1994
It means to…
- turn to love wisdom and righteousness
- turn to the worship of the true God
- return to the love and obedience of God
—————
Scripture lists a few things you turn from…
- Useless things
- Idols
- Darkness
- The power of Satan
And what you are turning towards…
- The Lord your God
- Light
- The power of God
- The Shepherd and Overseer of your soul
- The living God who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them
—————
The steps are….
- #1 – Understand with your heart and believe
- #2 – Repent
- #3 – Be converted/turn to God
Then: - God heals you
- The veil that blinds your mind and lies on your heart is taken away
- You receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are being sanctified by faith in Christ
- Your sins are blotted out so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord
- You do works befitting repentance

In our unregenerate state, we are turned away from God.
We hear, but don’t understand.
We see, but don’t perceive.
Our hearts are dull and hardened.
Our ears are heavy and hard of hearing.
Our eyes are shut and blinded.
We are like sheep gone astray.
But with belief and repentance we can turn to the Lord and be healed.
May our full stance be one that’s turned fully in the direction of wisdom and righteousness, as well as the worship, love, and obedience of the true God.
