White Garments

Have you ever considered the garments draped on us by the Lord, and what they signify?

As God removed Joshua’s filthy garments of iniquity and then clothed him in rich robes, we too have had our transgressions and guilt removed and have been clothed with robes of righteousness and garments of salvation.

As Aaron’s garments were sprinkled with alter blood to make them hallowed, we too are adorned with garments sanctified by the blood of the Lamb.

As the priests washed themselves, were consecrated, and anointed with oil, we too have been cleansed by the Lord, consecrated, and anointed with the Holy Spirit.

As the priests’ holy garments gained them the privilege of entering the holy chamber and ministering to God, we too have been given a holy priesthood and are adorned with garments that allow us to be accepted into the Lord’s presence.

He has removed our iniquity, our shame, and our nakedness, adorning us in priestly, beautiful, hallowed garments of salvation.

By His grace, may we be considered worthy to be counted among the multitude in heaven arrayed in white, clean robes, washed in the Lamb’s blood.

May we not defile or tear these garments of ours, but walk with Him in garments that are always white, our head lacking no oil of anointing.
